I welcome all the TwoSpiritJournal readers to come out and see it!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.adamgarnetjones.com\/fire-song\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fire Song<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is set on the reserve at Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation and Fort William First Nation in northwestern Ontario and provides a vivid backdrop to the daily turmoil of Shane (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm6847245\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Andrew Martin<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), a Two-Spirit Anishnaabe teenager struggling to support his family in the aftermath of his sister\u2019s suicide. Shane is to move to the city for University in the fall, and he has been trying to convince his secret boyfriend David (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm6847250\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Harley LeGarde-Beacham<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) to come with him, but now everything is uncertain. Shane is torn between his responsibilities at home and the promise of freedom calling to him from the big city. He pushes through barrier after barrier, determined to take care of his mom and earn money for school. When circumstances take a turn for the worse Shane has to choose between his family or his future, all while trying to be true to himself.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Director <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm2049672\/?ref_=tt_ov_dr\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adam Garnet Jones<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is a Two-Spirit Cree\/Metis filmmaker originally from Edmonton. His short films have been broadcast widely on television and at film festivals. In 2008, Adam received the imagineNATIVE\/Canwest Mentorship Award and was the recent recipient of the RBC Emerging Artist Award and the Jim Burt Screenwriting prize for the script for <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.adamgarnetjones.com\/fire-song\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fire Song<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
