Given the current global Covid-19 pandemic, Vice Studio acknowledges that, “this is a strange time for a casting call, but we’re optimistically looking ahead to the coming months in this time of uncertainty.” But that is exactly what they just did, VICE Studios has put out a casting call for an upcoming 8 x 30-minute documentary series featuring #Two-Spirit, transgender, gender non-conforming and non-binary individuals.
This new docseries seeks, “compelling stories and heartwarming characters searching for their place in the queer community. We’re looking for people who are confident in their identity but are new to exploring their gender expression and style. If this sounds like you, we want to help you feel your most authentic self, on the outside and in.”
Vice Studio would love to hear from you if:
- You’re Two-Spirit, trans, non-binary, gender non-conforming, etc.
- You’re just coming into your identity and/or place in the queer community
- You’re learning how to balance your wardrobe presentation with your gender/identity
- The thought of dressing up for a big event (i.e. prom, birthday, comedy show) makes you nervous, anxious, dysphoric or excited
- You’re looking for mentorship and that final confidence boost to align your public presentation with who you really are
- You have friends and/ or family (chosen or biological) that are learning to support you and willing to go on this journey with you
Each episode will follow a different person’s journey in the lead up to a milestone or coming-of-age event (i.e. quinceañera, audition, grad, wedding, etc.) as they’re guided by a 2SLGBTQ+ support team to find confidence and unveil ‘a look’ that finally reveals exactly who they are. This could include mentorship in a myriad of ways, specifically tailored to the needs of our subject.
