(Vancouver, BC) The 38th annual Vancouver Pride Parade , held on Sunday, July 31, 2016, was historic on a number of fronts. There’s been much news coverage of Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau , his wife and children marching, the first time a serving Prime Minister marched in the Vancouver Pride Parade.
However, the Indigenous and #Two-Spirit community also made history. The Musqueam Nation lead the Indigenous contingent of three (3) Two-Spirit/Indigenous floats at this year’s Vancouver Pride Parade. This was the first time Musqueam Nation lead this contingent.
The Musqueam float was followed by the Greater Vancouver Native Cultural Society and the Canadian Aboriginal AIDS Network floats.
